Greeting friends and thank you for your ongoing interest in, prayer for and support related to our ongoing ministry with DAI and beyond. We realize daily our partnership with all of you in facing various challenges. Paul the apostle’s words to the Church at Corinth echo in our hearts: “God will deliver us [from perils and dangers] as you help us by your prayers” (II Corinthians 1:10-11).

Because we solicit your prayers and support, we want to keep you updated, so here are a few details:

TURKEY TRIP CANCELLED: the conference of cross-cultural workers (who are all ethnically Chinese but currently serving in the Muslim and Hindu world) was cancelled because of Turkish tourism’s fear of the corona virus. This cancellation is sad on two levels: first, though the attendees are Chinese, most were not coming from China; and second, these people work in some tough places and they could have benefitted from a time of encouragement.

INDIA TRIP FROM FEBRUARY 28th-March 9th: Paul will be facilitating the “Culture, Ethnicity & Diversity” course in the DAI MAOL (Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership) program in Meghalaya, northeast India.

Please pray for:

  • Problem-free travel
    • 2/28-29: Fort Myers to Newark to Delhi, India
    • 2/29-March 1: Overnight near Delhi airport
    • March 1: Fly Delhi to Guwahati, Assam and then drive (4 hours) into Meghalaya
    • March 2-7: the DAI MAOL* cohort classes meet
    • March 7-8: drive back to Guwahati, fly to Delhi then Newark, then Fort Myers
  • Good health & safety for both of us
  • Good internet (mostly so that Paul & Christie can communicate)
  • Excellence in teaching cross-culturally.

A QUESTION ABOUT BLOGGING: believing in the power of the written word to inform, encourage, exhort, inspire etc., Paul is considering increasing writing more regularly for this blog.

  • IF Paul were to do this and IF you were to read these posts
  • WHICH of these two themes would be more interesting to you:
    • Option 1: personal reflections on life – looking from a 66-year-old perspective – thinking about identity, choices, health, challenges, faith, faithfulness, & more
    • OR
    • Option 2: “feeding your forgotten soul” – focusing on themes from Paul’s 1992 book of the same title but updated – concentrating on navigating spiritual hurdles and “exercises” to help stay in spiritual shape.
    • Feedback welcome!
