Greeting friends and thank you for your ongoing interest in, prayer for and support related to our ongoing ministry with DAI and beyond.  We will try to update this schedule with greater detail as the year unfolds, but below you will find our current ministry trip schedule for 2020 – along with prayer requests along the way.

SEPTEMBER (working from SW Florida as our home base)

No trips on current schedule, but please pray for:

  • Diligence in study, writing, and preparing for strategic ministry in early February
  • Follow up with 2019 support raising 
  • Writing our report that goes with the DAI Annual Report

FEBRUARY (working from SW Florida as our home base)

Two international trips ahead. Please pray:

  • 3rd through 8thPaul will be joining cross-cultural workers (who are themselves from a “closed country” and who now serve in the Muslim and Hindu world) to offer Bible teaching and encouragement for their lives and work. Please pray for a true Holy Spirit-connection between his messages and these faithful workers. The meetings are in Turkey.
  • 28th through March 9th: Paul will be facilitating the “Culture, Ethnicity & Diversity” course in the DAI MAOL* program in South Asia (specific location is in a country that is opposing the Gospel and pressuring Christians). Pray for problem-free travel and excellence in teaching cross-culturally. (*MAOL = Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership)

MARCH (working from SW Florida as our home base)

  • 1st through 9thDAI MAOL teaching (see above). Please pray for the teaching trip in South Asia: 

APRIL (working from SW Florida as our home base)

  • 1st through 3rd: Guest Teaching 2-3 days in the GCTS DMIN program. This teaching will be part of the Gordon-Conwell Seminary Doctorate in Cross-Cultural Ministry led by Dr. Peter Kuzmic and Dr. Robert Hoskins. Go to https://www.gordonconwell.edu/doctor-ministry/tracks/385-2/ for more info.

MAY (working from Lexington MA as our home base)

  • 11th through 15th: London/Oxford for meetings and ministry site visits. Paul & Christie will join other trustees and spouses in the Crowell Trust to allocate funding and meet personally with Trust partners.  Pray for our joint wisdom as we respond to requests.

JUNE (working from Lexington MA as our home base)

  • 24/25th through July 3rd: We are in the planning process with colleagues in Costa Rica to go and teach the principles of indigenous Fund-raising (i.e., raising ministry support in their own countries or regions) to Costa Rican leaders. And if the political situation is stable, the trip would include an encouragement trip to DAI Colleagues in Nicaragua. Please pray for details to be worked out and for effective teaching though translation. Pray that it will be relevant in various contexts.

JULY (working from Lexington MA as our home base)

  • 24th through August 3rd: We are in the planning process with colleagues in West Africa to go and teach the principles of indigenous Fund-raising to leaders in Senegal and Togo.  Please pray for details to be worked out and for effective teaching that is relevant in contexts where the Christian population is very small.

AUGUST (working from Lexington MA as our home base)

  • 1st to 3rd: West Africa trip (see above)
  • 17th through 24th: Borthwick “Clan” gathering in Scotland – joining Paul’s sister Sue and brother Scott (and his wife Donna) in exploring our Scottish heritage (FYI: if you want to meet the kind of people we’re descended from , watch Mel Gibson’s movie Braveheart!) 

SEPTEMBER (working from Lexington MA as our home base)

  • 13th or 14th through 24th: We are in the planning process with colleagues in East Asia to go and teach the principles of the Culture and Ethnicity course in two countries there. Please pray for details to be worked out and for effective teaching that is relevant in contexts where the Christian population is small and under pressure.

OCTOBER (working from Lexington MA as our home base)

  • 16th through 18th: Mission Conference speaking Lansing, MI
  • 25th through 29th: Trustees meetings in Colorado Springs

NOVEMBER (working from SW Florida as our home base)

  • 1st through 8thAsia specialist David Ro has invited Paul to come as an observer/participant at the Asia 2020 conference in Bangkok, Thailand. Please pray for the leaders who are planning for this gathering to reach the most populous, most unreached, and most strategic continent.
